Pricing & trial
How much does MeMemo cost?
You get a 7 day free trial with every feature unlocked. After that, a single one time purchase unlocks everything for good. No subscription, no auto renewal.
What can I still do after the trial if I do not buy?
Nothing is lost. You can still open the app and read everything you have written. You can also still edit the year keywords on the Me page and export all of your data. Creating and editing note content is what requires unlocking.
Will there be discounts later?
No. Out of fairness to everyone who has already paid, MeMemo does not run limited time discounts.
Do I need to pay again on a new phone or after reinstalling?
No. Your purchase is tied to your Apple ID. Just tap Restore purchase in Settings. The same Apple ID works across iPhone, iPad and Mac.
Data & privacy
Where is my data stored?
Entirely on your own device and in your personal iCloud. MeMemo has no server and requires no account, so we cannot see anything you write.
Should I turn on iCloud sync?
We recommend it. With sync on, your data comes back automatically when you switch phones, lose a device or delete the app by mistake, and it stays in sync across your devices. With sync off, your data lives only on this one device.
How do I move my data to a new phone?
As long as iCloud sync is on, install MeMemo on the new phone and sign in with the same Apple ID. Your data syncs back on its own, with nothing to do manually.
Will my writing be used for ads or to train AI?
No. MeMemo has no ads, no third party analytics and no tracking of any kind. Your writing is never sent to us, because there is no server for it to be sent to.
Can I export my data?
Yes. Markdown, TXT and PDF are all supported, and PDF can be laid out as a book. You can export everything, or filter by year, month, week or a custom date range.
Can I import data?
Not yet. Import is planned alongside the Android version.
How do I permanently delete all of my data?
Delete the app and the local data is gone. Then open Settings, tap your Apple ID, go to iCloud and Manage Account Storage, and remove MeMemo's backup. That erases everything for good. Deleted data cannot be recovered, so consider exporting a copy first.
Devices & platforms
Which iOS versions are supported?
iOS 17 and later.
Does it work on iPad?
Yes, fully supported.
Does it work on Mac?
Yes, on Macs with Apple silicon (M series chips).
Is there an Android version?
It is in development and well past the halfway point. We will announce the release date on this site and on our social channels as soon as it is confirmed.
Is there a HarmonyOS version?
Not at the moment.
Will iOS and Android share data?
The plan is to export on one side and import on the other, with import arriving alongside the Android version. There will be no live sync between the two platforms, because that would require us to run a server holding your writing, which goes against the principle of never touching your data.
Which languages are supported?
Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, English, Japanese and Korean. The app follows your system language.
Features
Are there home screen widgets?
Yes. Five widgets in nine size variants: Today, This week, This week's plans, Week overview and Recent days.
Can I write entries for past dates?
Yes. You can go back to any day, week, month or year and write at any time, with no cutoff.
Can I set a reminder?
Yes. Turn on the daily reminder in Settings and pick the time you usually write.
Can I add photos?
Not at the moment. MeMemo is built around plain text from the ground up, which is what keeps it fast and restrained.
Does it connect to Calendar or Reminders?
No. MeMemo is a separate space for writing, deliberately kept apart from scheduling apps.
How much space does it take?
Very little. The iOS 1.6.0 download is around 12 MB, about the size of one song. Even a hundred years of writing would only add a few more songs' worth.
About MeMemo
What if the app is discontinued one day?
First, the developer uses MeMemo every day and intends to keep maintaining it. Second, export is already complete, so your data can leave with you at any time and does not depend on us. And if that day ever came, there would be plenty of notice.
